General Information

Our escape rooms are always booked exclusively for your group. This means you’ll only share the room with the people you’ve added to your booking. No strangers will be added to your escape room. This exclusivity is important to us to provide you with an undisturbed and intensive experience.

The prices for our escape rooms vary depending on location, day of the week, and your group size. For a detailed price overview, please visit our Price Overview. Alternatively, you can select a room on our booking page, enter the number of participants and desired date to see the final price for your game. This gives you a transparent and immediate cost overview.

For reasons of suspense and surprise, it’s unfortunately not possible to view the escape rooms before booking. The content of the room should remain a surprise for all participants. However, for larger groups planning a team event, we offer the possibility to view our location in Wandsbek by prior appointment. To arrange an appointment, please contact us via email at info@fluchtweg-hamburg.de.

Our escape rooms at Fluchtweg Hamburg are not scary. We don’t use horror elements, jump scares, or frightening scenarios. Our focus is on exciting, challenging puzzles and an intensive gaming experience. However, to enhance the atmosphere of the stories, we do use special effects, atmospheric sound effects, and sometimes dimmed lighting. You can find more information about the atmosphere and themes of the rooms on the detail pages of individual rooms.

Booking and Cancellation

Yes, you can flexibly adjust the number of participants in your booking as long as the maximum capacity of the booked room is not exceeded. This can be done even at short notice. If fewer people participate than originally booked, that’s also no problem – you can play the room with a smaller group. However, please note that in this case, there will be no refund of the remaining amount. If you have special requests or questions about this, you can contact us anytime via email at info@fluchtweg-hamburg.de, and we’ll try to find the optimal solution for your group.

Cancellations and rescheduling are possible, but under certain conditions:

  • More than 48 hours before the booked appointment: In this case, a processing fee equal to the participation fee for two players will be charged. The remaining amount will be refunded as a value voucher that you can use for a future booking with us. A cash refund is not possible.
  • Less than 48 hours before the booked appointment: For cancellations within 48 hours before the game date, the entire participation fee will be retained. A refund or voucher is no longer possible in this case.

These regulations serve to ensure the planning and execution of our games. We therefore recommend carefully planning your booking and reading our Terms and Conditions.

We understand that unforeseen events like illness can occur. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a cash refund of the paid amount in such cases, as the Terms and Conditions and cancellation policies were accepted during booking. However, we recommend passing your tickets on to friends, relatives, or colleagues. Your presence is not mandatory for using the ticket, so someone else can take your place. This way, you can ensure that your spot doesn’t go unused.

Group Size and Age

No, at Fluchtweg Hamburg, you always play only with your own group. Regardless of how many people you are, you have the booked escape room all to yourselves. This exclusive booking ensures that you can fully enjoy the gaming experience without having to worry about playing with strangers.

Our largest escape rooms, " Hotel Old Vegas" and " The Cursed Amulet", are designed for a maximum of 7 people. We place great importance on the quality of the gaming experience and therefore make no exceptions to the maximum number of participants. However, if you want to play with more than 7 people, we recommend our Battle Mode, where two groups can compete against each other in different rooms in parallel. This option is particularly available in our locations in St. Pauli and Wandsbek and offers an exciting alternative for larger groups:

  • Battle Mode in Wandsbek
  • Battle Mode in St. Pauli.

Children under 14 years can only play our escape rooms when accompanied by an adult. From the age of 14, it’s possible to participate in the games without adult supervision. This regulation is necessary to ensure the safety and experience for all participants. If you’re planning a children’s birthday party with children aged 10 to 14, at least one adult supervisor must be present in the room.

Yes, an adult supervisor counts as a full participant. This means that when booking a room designed for a maximum of 7 players, a constellation of 6 children and 1 adult supervisor fills the maximum capacity of the room. This is particularly important when planning children’s birthdays or other events where supervision is required.

Adult Supervisor for Children Under 14 in the Escape Room

Our escape rooms offer an exciting experience for children and teenagers from 14 years of age. However, for children under 14, the presence of an adult supervisor is necessary. This ensures not only the safety of our young guests but also enables a better experience for everyone involved.

Why is a supervisor important?

1. Safety Aspect

An adult supervisor can react immediately in emergencies and ensure the children’s safety. This way, parents can be sure that their children are well taken care of.

2. Responsibility and Supervision

Children under 14 need a supervisor who takes responsibility for their actions in the room.

3. Support with Tricky Puzzles

Some puzzles and tasks in the escape room can be challenging. The supervisor can help master difficult parts and maintain the fun of the game.

4. Communication with the Game Master

An adult supervisor can better communicate with our game master and represent the children’s concerns.

5. Behavior Control

Escape rooms can create challenging situations. A supervisor helps maintain calm and supports children in staying calm and respectful even in stressful moments.

6. Responsibility for Damages

If unintentional damage should occur, the supervisor takes responsibility towards the operator.

7. Promoting Teamwork and Quality Time

An escape room adventure is not only a great group experience but also offers a wonderful opportunity for shared, valuable time with children. The supervisor can help guide the group game, promote teamwork, and create unforgettable moments together.

8. Support with Fears

Some children might be afraid of darkness or confined spaces. A supervisor can provide security to the children and ensure everyone feels comfortable.

A Special Experience for the Whole Family!

Our escape rooms offer an exciting opportunity for family outings. Solving tricky puzzles together not only strengthens bonds but creates lasting memories. We look forward to making this adventure possible for you and your children!

Accessibility and Special Circumstances

Unfortunately, our escape rooms are not wheelchair accessible as both locations are in the basement level. This means there are stairs and no elevators, which makes access difficult or impossible for people with limited mobility. We greatly regret this limitation and ask for your understanding. If this poses a problem for you, please contact us to discuss alternative solutions.

We generally advise against bringing babies into the escape rooms, as we use loud sounds and special effects in our games that could be frightening for small children. Additionally, there are many small parts in the room that could pose a danger to toddlers. However, if it’s unavoidable and you have no other childcare options, you can bring the baby at your own risk and responsibility in a baby carrier. To protect the child from loud noises, we recommend bringing special headphones.

At our Wandsbek location, you can bring your dog, however, the dog cannot be taken into the actual escape room. Instead, your four-legged friend can wait for you in the game master’s room. We provide a water bowl on site, but we ask you to bring your own blanket for the dog. This regulation is necessary out of consideration for other guests and potential allergies. At our St. Pauli location, dogs are unfortunately not allowed.

Languages

At Fluchtweg St. Pauli, you can play the escape rooms " Hotel Old Vegas" and " Voyager 2076" in both German and English. In Wandsbek, the rooms " The Legend of the Midnight Bell I & II" are only available in German. The room " The Cursed Amulet" can be played in German and English. Upon request, we also offer this room in Russian. For the Russian version, please contact us in advance so we can prepare the game accordingly.

The Cursed Amulet, Hotel Old Vegas, and Voyager 2076 can be played in English.

The Legend of the Midnight Bell is only playable in German. While we can offer the game introduction in English, the puzzle contents are only available in German.

The room The Cursed Amulet is also available in Russian, but only upon prior notice.

Some of our game masters also speak French and Ukrainian and can provide the game introduction in these languages upon request.

Yes, you can communicate in any language during the game. We just ask that important questions or puzzles be discussed in German or English so our game masters can provide targeted assistance.

Payment

Payment for your booking is made online. We accept PayPal and credit card payments as preferred payment methods. We also offer payments via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, and iDeal. This variety of payment options is designed to make booking as easy and convenient as possible for you.

Online Escape Game

You can purchase the game for €15 in our online shop.

You can play the online adventure on PC, laptop, or tablet. Devices with large screens are recommended. Recommended browsers are Chrome version 80.0.1 or higher, Mozilla Firefox version 76.0.1 or higher, Safari version 13.0.5 or higher. How do I update my browser?  For one puzzle in the first episode “Ohne Moos nichts los”, a printer is recommended but not mandatory.

On each page where there’s a puzzle, there’s a lamp icon. By clicking on this icon, you’ll get hints. Please only get the tips when you really can’t proceed. Generally, any aids are allowed and sometimes even necessary. Googling, asking grandma, calling a friend – there are no limits.

A license key is intended for one device. Logging in from different devices simultaneously is possible, however, it can lead to technical problems where one device gets kicked out of the system. If you’re in different locations and want to experience our adventure together, simply buy one game code and share your game screen with other participants via Zoom, Jitsi, Microsoft Teams, or Google Hangouts.

Generally – yes. It’s possible to pause the game and continue later. However, we recommend playing each mission in one go. Texts sometimes contain hidden hints that might be relevant later.

Please send us an email at info@fluchtweg-hamburg.de with a detailed error description and browser data. Example: “Hello! On the page with the owl puzzle, the input field doesn’t work. When I enter the code, an error message “501 server error” is displayed. I’m playing on Mac and using Google Chrome Version 81.0.4044.138”.
